When Jim Neighbors retired from a 34-year career with the Department of Defense, he had no intentions of resting on his laurels; no, he intended to keep serving his country... but in what capacity, he wasn't yet sure. 

But then came the spark of an idea, a way to employ the specialized knowledge, insider experience, and connections he'd gained over his long tenure for the betterment of the United States government as well as the commercial sector.

Jim conceived of a consulting company unlike any other. True, plenty of existing consultancies proffered their services to companies engaging in the federal contracting space, but as far as he knew, no such firms were composed entirely of highly-accomplished federal government and military retirees. He intended to remedy that, and from this ambitious idea, Focusing Forward was born and nurtured into what it is today, namely a thriving collection of more than 150 such consultants, each with their own uniquely specific experience and abilities to contribute to our clients' successes.
